Kelly Blake

Kelly Blake began playing competitive soccer in Monroe, New York for the Monroe United Magic at 10 years old, and continued playing until she was 17 years old. She played for Monroe-Woodbury High School Varsity girl's soccer team for her sophomore, junior and senior years and was a captain during her senior year.

Kelly Blake began playing competitive soccer in Monroe, New York for the Monroe United Magic at 10 years old, and continued playing until she was 17 years old. She played for Monroe-Woodbury High School Varsity girl’s soccer team for her sophomore, junior and senior years and was a captain during her senior year. She continued playing soccer in college for Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (NCAA DII) from 2003-2007. During these years, the women’s soccer team won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 2003 and 2005 and went to the NCAA Division II tournament in 2003 and 2006. She was also captain of the Slippery Rock Women’s soccer team her junior and senior year.  After college, she continued to take part in competitive soccer on the New York Athletic Club Amateur women’s soccer team from 2007-2009.

Kelly began volunteer coaching in 2007 for Monroe-Woodbury High School girl’s soccer team and continued to help as much as possible in 2008. Upon moving to Ridgecrest, she became the Asst Coach of the Burrough’s High School Girl’s Varsity Soccer team during the 2011-2012 season. She currently coaches the GU11 team and is the Head Coach of the Girls VarsityTeam at Burroughs High School.

Coaching Philosophy:

  • Focus on building individual skill, playing as a team and understanding the game of soccer. Also, stressing the importance of commitment, responsibility and teamwork.
